Sorry for neglecting my blog for so long, I promise I'll make an effort to update it more regularly.

It's CNY and I'm back home for 2 weeks, have been eating every day and every moment. I've gained 1kg in 2 days. I shall stop eating so that my long run diet plan dont go to waste.

I have been neglecting my blog for a month now. So I'm doing a quick update in case you're wondering what am I up to lately(as if like anybody cares about it).

Anyway, I am all good, still stuck to the job I don't like. Still hoping to change job but no action being done because I am not even applying to anything at the moment. Have been working almost everyday and urgh dont let me even mention about work. Working life sucks. So end of story.

Camera died a month ago, hence no pics. Will try to put up some when I got the pictures from Joe. I NEED a new camera. Went to Coogee beach last week and had a pot of yummy mussels for dinner today. Picca next time.

There is a long list of movies I want to watch. Inception, eclipse, toy story 3, shrek 4 and despicable me. Oh yes I havent watched any of those. It's so expensive for a movie ticket here. T_____T How I wish I am back in Malaysia where it cost only RM7 to watch a movie instead of $15 here. Oh yes that's how much it cost even if I'm using student card.

A festival of light, music and ideas! It's only the 2nd year Australia organize vivid Sydney. Lights are lighted up around The Rocks and especially on the Opera House. Using the white sails of the Opera House as the canvas and project designs on it, the idea is totally brilliant. Another place which will also be lighten up is at Macquarie Street which I'll be going next week! Dear camera, why you decided to die on me now??!!! Of all time why NOW?? *sad*

Anyway, I loaned the camera from Joe to take these pics! I'll just let the pictures speak for itself!

Colourful eh? It's a three weeks long event so I'm gonna check it out more about it soon! So stay tuned! =)

We have made it through primary, secondary and high school and now university! This is the day when we can bid farewell to all the boring textbooks and greet to the working society. Graduation day also the day you get to gather with your fellow friends that have gone through thick and thin with you during the uni days before everyone embark to their next stage of life. I am gonna miss all of you!

I have been neglecting my blog for a very long time eh...

Life is not that good, finding a job is really really really really x100 hard! I am now working part time as a waitress (well sort of) in the UTS canteen. CANTEEN! I wouldn't believe that one day I will be working in a canteen. New experience, and somehow made me feel like going back to uni and be a student again. The pay is... half the pay I used to get when I worked in retail. And my current rent is like almost double the money I used to pay last time. How to live like that you tell me. This is just a temporary job and in the mean time I am looking for a full time accounting or finance job. And I have already got like 5 rejection letters so far... while other companies just ignore me. I have only been on active job hunting for mere two weeks, maybe I haven't worked hard enough. But I have gone through every job listing available for fresh grad accounting student on the job seeker website. I guess I just gotta keep trying and hopefully someday soon someone will call and tell me you're hired.*pray real hard*

On a brighter note, it's raining now, and I'm gonna have vege hotpot tonight!! Hotpot in a rainy cold night is blissful. And my graduation is next week!! And I have got a new phone and it's free for continuing the virgin mobile postpaid plan!! The only thing that saddened me is I don't have a full time job where I can earn my own money to support myself. =(

I'm back in Australia and currently settled down in Sydney and I'm still jobless. I need to get my bridging visa before I get kick out from the country when my student visa expired in less than 2 weeks time. So many documents to prepare and I think I pretty much did what I can and now just have to sit and wait and scan every documents into the computer while waiting for my medical check up appointment. I hope all the energy and money I have spent are all worth it. On the other note, my old aussie number is currently not in use right now as I lost my sim card so don't call me on that number until further notice. I'm still thinking whether to stick with the old number or change to a new one.

I know I have abandoned my blog for weeks! I was a little busy and a little lazy. I will resume my Tasmania post when I connect my laptop to the internet! Oh btw, I'm back in Malaysia for 2 weeks already and I'm finally free at home now.

Today is the last day of 2009 and tomorrow will be a brand new year. I had great fun in 2009 and I'm grateful that I have family and friends with me along the way that made my 2009 wonderful.

Tasmania Pt2 - Table Cape Tulip Farm

We had breakfast at the Anvers Chocolate Factory, the place where I am being served with generous amount of salmon at a relatively cheap price.They have really nice hot chocolate tooo!

With a full tummy we drove to the tulip farm... Need I say more? Just look at the pictures!!

I have more pictures and will be posted up on facebook when I'm not lazy. Not gonna say when I'm free coz I'm free everyday! Tee hee =D

Next will be random places I went in Tasmania like Port Arthur, Woolmers estate, etc... so stay tuned!

Tasmania - Explore the possibilities pt 1

The original name for Tasmania was Van Diemen's Land. Click here if you're interested to know more about it. Tasmania is pretty much similar to New Zealand, mainly about sight seeing. Of course New Zealand is the best but Tasmania is not too bad too! Or maybe it's true that the grass always greener on the other side.

Our plane landed in Hobart and we drove to Launceston immediately on the night we reached there. We could have just bought the ticket to Launceston instead but because of someone's suggestion we bought the one to Hobart then only we realized that all the places we intended to go mostly at the upper part of Tasmania. So we drove in the dark without any street lights and there weren't any cars in front or behind us for at least 10km! Or more!! I think there were less than 15 cars pass by us for the whole 200km journey! Very scary no joke! But I was glad that the moon was very bright that night to give us at least some decent moonlight to see what's around us.

We reached Launceston at arount 11pm and the very nice backpackers owner left the keys inside the envelope for us to go in. On the next day, we went to Tasmazia and the village of lower crackpot. Tasmazia is the world's largest maze complex and it has a total of 8 mazes including the world's largest maze, the great maze, when they planted the hedges maybe around... 20 years ago? The village of lower crackpot is whimsical model village built to 1/5th scale. They are located at a place with wonderful name called promised land. It sounds so fairytale-ish!! It has a small lavender farm too, too bad lavender wasn't in season that time.

We had our lunch at the pancake parlour and we ordered this as what they proclaim the world's most photographed pancake.I don't remember the name of the pancake, I think it's tripleberries or something...

I felt like I got cheated you know... I don't see how wonderful it is to be the world's most photographed pancake... or maybe I'm very shallow like that.

The maze in front is the confusion maze and the one on the other side is the Hexagonal maze and Hampton Court maze, repeat design to scale of the original Hampton Court Palance in U.K. It was really fun getting lost inside the mazes and trying to find my way out!-

Inside the great maze, you can find small little mazes like the balance maze, the cage maze and the Irish maze.

-three little bears cottage is the point you have to reach to complete the maze... it took us ages to find it. You can hear people around it and you know it's just beside the hedge but we just couldn't find our way in. But it was very easy to get out... I guess we were just some direction idiots... or maybe just me... -

When we left the place, it was still early so we decided to go to Lake Barrington which is located just beside Tasmazia. It was a nice calming place at the first glance.

but when you look closely at those small little black dots on the grass... to our horror... it was full of kangaroos and wallabies poo!!

That's pretty much our 1st day in Tasmania. Next up will be Table Cape tulip farm!!!

Melbourne Part 2 - The Great Ocean Road

Ha this is so long overdue. I finished up my internet quota too early last month so I can't update! It just refreshed like 3 days ago.

The great ocean road is a 243 km stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool.The road was constructed to provide work for returning soldiers and dedicated as a Memorial to those killed in the First World War.It is one of Australia's great scenic coastline drives. (quoted from wikipedia)

We joined the chinese tour for the cheaper price! We departed early in the morning and it takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach the destination. It's like going to KL to and fro in a day and the road is very winding. Being the usual me I fell asleep in the car and hence I don't feel anything. That day was very gloomy, windy, chilly, everything you can get to be the worst timing to go on a trip. But luckily the sun came up for a little while to cheer me up.

We stopped on a few places to see the rocks like the razorback, the 12 Apostles, London Arch, Loch Ard Gorge and probably more which I can't remember anymore. When we reached the destination, it was like wow... then took out our camera and snapped snapped, then after awhile I was too cold and don't even feel like taking out the camera and just keep my hands warm in my pocket. So I have a few photos only.

- the 12 apostles, you can't exactly see all of them from the place I was standing, you have to take the helicopter to get the bird eye view then only you can start counting. A few of them have collapsed due to the constant sea erosion at their bases over the years, and you can see how gloomy the day was, I can't even get a nice photo of the 12 Apostles-

-london bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down..... the london arch. That two thing was originally attached, we were told that when it collapsed there was a couple being seperated with the girl on the london arch and the guy on the land. I just wiki it and apparently it has nothing to do with the song.-

So people, if you intend to visit the Great Ocean Road, you better hurry or there will be not much left for you to see in the future anymore. The rate of erosion at their base is approximately 2cm per year.

The place to be - Melbourne, the CBD

Basically the CBD of Melbourne is made up from nine vertical and nine horizontal streets. The government is trying to preserve the Victorian style in the CBD and hence most of the high rise and modern buildings are built outside the city. You can get around the city easily by tram, but the traffic can be very confusing too because they have tram lanes and car lanes, and the tram station is in the middle of the road. It even has carriages around the city too! If you take away the cars and the modern trams, it will be just like an old Victorian city.

Melbourne is a vibrant city, even though it is not as fast pacing like Sydney but it's definitely a good place to be at, except the weather is not very nice, the 4 days I was in Melbourne, it was very windy and you see just clouds and more clouds. It is a smaller city compared to Sydney, Sydney has more high rise buidlings, and more like a business district to me as you can see big, famous, and listed companies around the city and people wearing suits going for work and Melbourne has more tourists and students as the University of Melbourne and RMIT just located around the city, and tourists are just everywhere in the city, like EVERYWHERE. I like how they have information booths and helpers to help the tourists to get around the city, which was really helpful for self-touring tourists like us.

There are a lot of Asians too, it's just everywhere, whenever you blink your eye you see an Asian. The whole city is just like a Chinatown to me, I thought I was in some Asian country. But the good thing is, the Asian groceries and restaurants are everywhere!! And it's cheaper! Well, the cost of living there is cheaper but the rental is crazy!

Dust Storm

No I did not edit the picture, this photo is taken in my room at 7.40 in the morning today. The dust is not so thick anymore now but the wind is still very strong. According to the news, it's the worst dust storm in 70 years. And the scientist says there might be another one coming up again tomorrow and Friday. Scaryy.... I need to go stock up my food storage already!

Anyway, it's holiday babeh!! 2 weeks of mid term holiday, not that I'm going anywhere but still it's holiday!! Maybe not exactly a holiday as I have three assignments due when uni reopen. For now, I just want to curl up in my bed watching drama series!!

Been wondering how did I manage to upload huge pictures? Imma telling you now!

You will need to log in http://draft.blogger.com instead of the normal blogger you signed into. Then upload pictures like normal. Good thing using draft blogger is that you can upload as many pictures as you want at one time, bad thing is when you're uploading you cannot continue to type the post until they are finished uploaded. But another good thing is you can just post the pictures anywhere you want instead of having to drag it down from top to bottom but I already found an alternative for it.

Okay back to enlarging the pictures. After you uploaded and posted, then go to edit HTML and this is the code where you change the size of the photo.

The size will normally be s320 if you choose medium, all you need to do is change the number to either s576, s640, s800, or even s1600 if you want a uber huge ass picture on your blog. Normally I use s576 for all the pictures.

After you have done, go back to compose, you will see the size of your picture will change from this

to this

Voila, it's as simple as that. Oh one more thing, some blog templete with narrow content margin might not be able to do this, so you will need to change the content margin in your blog layout using HTML.

It's already week 7 this week, 2 more weeks and I'm be on my mid term holiday! And, that also means 8 more weeks till finals and 12 more weeks till the end of the term! That's how fast time flies. I go to uni from Monday till Wednesday only, I don't even know how I spent my weekends and before I realize it's Monday again. sigh... I guess I have been wasting time a lot.

2 weeks ago, I went to ChamShan temple located in Morriset, it's around 40 minutes drive away from Newcastle. It was my first time visiting a temple in Australia and I was pretty excited about it. The temple was nice, the people were nice too! It's more of a cantonese speaking temple, but I'm glad I am able to understand it all thanks to the TVB dramas I have been watching all this while. Visiting the temple is now a fortnightly event for the uni newly formed Buddhist Society.

On a totally unrelated thing, I have tasted my first char koay teow in Australia!!! *big wet eyes* Even though it is not very authentic but the flavour and the fragrance of wonderful char koay teow is there! *bliss*

I just registered for IELTS exam in November, I really hope I can get at least 7 for each component so I don't have to retake it. I really need to brush up my English, I know my grammar is horrible and my vocab is limited. How to score like that! T__T Yesh yesh I know I should read more books but my reading phase comes and goes. And now I'm not in the reading phase. But on a bright side, I just bought 2 books during the book fair last month for 4 dollars each! All I need now is to get myself into reading it.

Merdeka Night 2009 - Fusion of Culture

Yesterday wasn't exactly Independence day yet, but everyone's patriotic spirit was there! The food wasn't bad, cannot complain since I'm not in Malaysia but still get to eat satay!! *bliss* There are performances going on and lucky draw. The 1st prize is a return ticket back to Malaysia!! Unfortunately I wasn't the lucky one. =( Anyway, I had a lot of fun! Met a lot of people, it was a great night!

Since everyone will be turning up pretty, I also tried my best to look good too! I think it wasn't bad, since I got compliments from friends! =D Here's the picture after I did my make up.

What I do when I have a sudden craving for Malaysian food

I was browsing some recipe blog last night and I found some Malaysian recipe and that made me had a sudden craving for it! I know I must do something to stop my craving, so the next day, which is today, I headed to Woolies and Asian store and bought all the ingredients needed to make Char hor fun, and I even made sambal belacan to go with it! I would say it was quite nice! at least it helps to satisfy my sudden craving. =D This is the recipe if you're interested in making it too! *click*

Went to Sydney last Thursday, it was a hair cut trip. All 5 of us cut our hair and this is how I look like now

It was eons ago since I put my fringe down like that, even though I have had fringe in the past but normally I'll push it to the side way, and I totally can't recall back when was the last time I put it down like this. Some people say it doesn't look good tho, but some say nice! So what do you guys think? The length of my hair still about the same as just some bad ends being cut off only and it is more layered now.

Of course we don't just go to Sydney to cut our hair, we went to karaoke session after that and sang for 3 good hours! And definitely cannot miss the must-have Korean meal every time we go to Sydney. They are just sooo good! And there is this ice cream place called Passion Flower that serves Ice Cream on waffles, crepes and pancakes! Nice! =D

Okie that was just a quick update! It's the 2nd week of my final semester already! and it's the end of the 2nd week already coz my classes are only from Monday till Wednesday! So I have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off! I should be doing something more productive than watching drama series everyday! I'm currently watching Desperate housewives! I'm only on season one, I am so outdated!!

New Semester

Holiday is over, party is over, it's time to embrace the new term and which is also my last term of uni. I'm having some mixed feelings about graduating, I dunno should I be happy or sad or... whatever... it's kinda scary not to know what to do next, like yah, I'm graduating soon, so what's next? Continue master? Pack everything and go back home or stay and work? It's just so hard to make the decision.

Anyway, let just put that aside and think something happier! So what have I been doing for the past 3 weeks since I came back from New Zealand? 3 weeks ago, I was like what should I do for the next 3 weeks, and in a blink of eye, 3 weeks are over!! *blinking in disbelief* Basically, we went out like almost everyday! So yah, been spending a lot! The hole in my pocket from New Zealand haven't healed and now it's even bigger! *trying to sew the hole up* We were busier than the time when having exams! We can always come up with something to do everyday like "okay, tomorrow bak kut teh" "tomorrow let's eat steamboat" "let''s go thai restaurant tonight" "let's go Sydney" and MORE! And I'm also growing horizontally too! For eating too much during the holidays, dine out almost every night, how not to be fat????? T______________T

I'm pretty much lack of sleep lately coz I was chasing over korean drama every night... oh my eye bags and dark eye rings!!! I have been sleeping with my laptop for almost a month! This is bad.... oh don't worry, I already shifted it back to the table. =)

Now, the holiday is over, it's time to save up again for the upcoming sem break 7 or 8 weeks later so I can go travel!! And lose some weight before I go back to Malaysia! Oh did I say that I am jobless now? no? So yes I'm jobless now, fyi, I didnt get sack. It's because the shop is closing down and everyone working in that shop is jobless now. How to save up like that??? I guess I'll have to go into a fruit and vege diet and porridge only....

Of sheep, snow and heaps of fun

I'm back from New Zealand 3 days ago and it was an awesome trip!! The sight was spectacular and everything looks utterly picturesque! We saw snow capped mountains, green pastures, snow covered land, crystal clear water, ferns, sheep, cows, and more! The weather wasn't that great during our trip so we saw a lot of clouds instead of clear blue sky. Nevertheless, it was still great!

We went to South Island, the colder part of New Zealand, the place where bungee jump was invented. Obviously I didn't go to try out bungee jump and the nearest place I got to bungee jump is to stand at the viewing deck and see other people jump. It costs around freaking 200 dollar to jump and that jump might cost your life! And it finishes in less than 2 minutes. South Island is famous for its adventurous activities like skiing, bungee jump and shotover jet especially in Queenstown. There are also hot air balloons, sky diving and stuff but I only took up the shotover jet, too little time to do everything and it wasn't cheap too! Each of the games costs at least NZD100 and it can get to a few hundreds too! so if I were to try everything I would be broke by now. Our trip involved a lot of driving, everyday we drove like around 5 hours to get to one place and in total we have driven around 1878km in 5 days according to the trip meter in our car. But I'm glad the sight along the way was great too! And the best part was it snowed in the last day of our trip! It was just stunning!! I couldn't describe the happiness in me when it was snowing, it was just plain amazing and beautiful! I have been wanting to see snowing for a long time and I finally did! All of us were so excited and we just had to get out of the car and play!

As all of you have known, the population of sheep are higher than human, and I'm just here to varify that. Yesh! It's absolutely true! During my trip, I see sheep everywhere, and cows too!! They are just everywhere! Eating grass and sun bathing on the grass. New Zealand has so many empty land and all the grass are nicely trimmed and you hardly see any untrimmed grass. I wonder how they managed to maintain the neatness, is it the sheep and cows that did the trimming? Besides that, they have a lot of hedges alongside the borders of each land. They are all nicely trimmed too! I wonder how they did it coz the hedges are very tall.

Okay, enough of crap, I'll just post up the pictures and elaborate more in point form.

The experience in New Zealand was just amazing! It was an eye opener, it's different from other part of the countries that I have been to, I like the quaint, the beauty and the peacefulness of everything there. And how organised the places are. Even for the land!

Busy busy week

Exams are over and that means party time! Yesh Yesh!! Been going out everyday since exams finished, busier than when having exams! Less facebook stalking and less online time too! My internet throttled already anyway...

Okay so we went to Jun Shoong's farewell and Petrina's belated birthday celebration! I only have two group pictures stolen from Joe's blog! Ooh and a picture of Jasmine's surprise glamourous party which was before exams! I have also watched Transformer 2 on the day it premieres in Australia! Even though the ticket is expensive but it's definitely worth every penny! It's just plain awesome! beyond words awesome! More robots and more actions! And surprisingly the theatre wasn't full and we got pretty good seats! Megan Fox is so friggin' hot and I don't care even if you suspect she might be a guy! The debate is all over twitter! I'll be going to New Zealand tomorrow! Will be leaving at midnight and will be back in a week's time! Not going to Melbourne anymore because of the H1N1 and I'm not taking any flu shot coz it's a vaccine and we don't have any time left for our body to build the immunity against it. And after I come back I'll still be having 3 weeks of holiday! Probably will go to Canberra and Blue Mountain instead if the hole in my pocket is not too big.

I'm so glad exams are over! It's been torturing me for 2 weeks! Phew!

I'll be having one month holiday till the start of my next semester which is my last semester hopefully... *grin* *pray to pass all the subjects*

I'm going to New Zealand next week! Swine flu cannot stop me from going to New Zealand!! Melbourne, maybe... might have to cancel it, depends. I'm wondering is it a good idea to get a flu shot. As far as I am concern, it does not immune you from getting swine flu but only the normal flu.

I have bought ticket for tomorrow's Transformer 2 : Revenge of the fallen premiere! I am so excited!! Been waiting for it for almost a month!! I hope it's worth my patience and money!!

Now, if you excuse me, I need to get my very much needed beauty sleep. I only slept for around 8 hours for the past two days, my dark eye rings are horrible!!

Dreadful exams

3 down, 2 more to go, just 2 more! I can't wait till the exams finish, it's killing me! Looking at the books make me want to just scream my lung out! Do you know the frustration when you're looking at something but you just couldn't understand it or the words just couldn't get into your mind! It looks so familiar yet so foreign. I do not know how to exactly express my feelings right now and I'm stressed out and depressed! It also makes me miss home even more at times like this! I need to get my mind clear and concentrate on my books! ARGH!

And I have been eating a lot of instant noodles! Had it everyday or every other day, I think my body will be preserved and mummified one day... okay that is not funny. Oh and I haven't eaten any for 3 days already! I am not good in finance field at all!! What was I thinking when I took up a major in finance??? I feel like just go knock myself at the wall. *knocking self to the wall*

Please please please please god just let me pass everything!! This semester is really tough! All the subjects are so hard to understand!!!! I am really really worried and scared!!

Newcastle(7 June) - MeiZhi, age 21, was reported missing about a minute ago and is believed being abducted by aliens. No signs of fighting and struggling were found in the room. Fire trails can be seen around the sky and a huge hole seems to be appeared at the rooftop on where she was currently living. According to the witness, a blue spaceship was coming out from her room and headed north. Scientists are currently gathered around to figure out this unusual phenomenon. More updates when the mystery is solved.

Works get very frustrating when these are what greet you in the morning:

-a table full of new clothes to put on the rack-

-a very messy store room and you have to clean it-

But I'm having 2 months break now, as exams approaching and I'll be away during holidays. It's good as I needed that break for some time already and finally I am getting it! Working is only good because you have extra pocket money and spare your very utterly free time. It's not good when you cannot have plans with friends on weekends and if you enjoy having absolutely nothing to do on weekends like me. So it has pros and cons. Anyway I'm glad I don't have to work for 2 months! I hope I'll have that motivation to work again like I did when I first started to work.

I don't work here last year, this is another branch inside the same mall. So I guess their business is good. Or like I was told, the mall is doing some expansion work, so the old one will be chopped off to make way to the new wing like Gurney. I don't have the picture of the old shop, it's smaller looking for the front view, but bigger space inside. And the outside is red in colour instead of the white one. But what I do have is the picture beside the old shop which I found it very funny, they always make their store look like this whenever they are having sales!

I love food! It feels so good when I'm eating... I could be an eat-oholic... or perhaps gradually becoming one... that's why when I went home last year, everyone was like "gosh! you put on weight!!" then for dunno what reason I also ate a lot back home but just probably don't snack as much as I do over here or had less creamy and cheesy and starchy food back home, when I came back again this year my friends went "oooh, you lose weight!!" I think I am gaining weight now again, seriously, you do not want to know how much I have eaten for the past few weeks!! gosh! It's unbelieaveble!! I have been enjoying myself too much!! We have our fortnightly breakfast, then almost weekly dining out in the town, and occasionally steamboat at home, or sometimes we'll just decide to cook something good... or some random occasion eating out like after a busy week, finished tests, finished assignments, or when we're in the mood. hehe!

Let see... the recent events, everyone's birthday falls in May!! 1st it's Khai Chi's, we went to a thai restaurant to have dinner, it wasn't bad but probably not the best restaurant in town. But that doesn't matter because it's the company that counts, who cares about food when you have friends around to have fun!

Then it's Cien Shin and Xin Yi's birthday, Nicole came down from Canberra to give Cien a surprise at 12am. The next day they went to Port Stephens and I couldn't go coz I had to work! Then at night we organized a little party for them. We bought so much food until we couldn't finish it! We had KFC, Domino Pizzas, Amazing noodles, deep ocean seafood and home made mashed potato! All in very large portions. It was nevertheless a great night!! We play cards and Wii after dinner and had a chat with everyone!

That's 3 on May, and there are still a few coming up! yay! more food!! more laughter and more fun!! Happy Birthday to all the May babies!!

Last friday, we went to our fortnightly event, breakfast! I missed the last one coz I had to work on saturday, so I tried to convince them to go on Friday instead. So yay! We went to Grind Cafe at Darby Street.

- this is my toasted turkish bread with creamy pesto mushroom, spinach and tomatoes with 2 poached eggs on top! delish!-

-The 1st coffee I ordered since I came to Newy! Affogato!! It's good! seriously! A shot of espresso pour over the vanilla ice cream with chocolate flakes! The smooth and creamy textures of the ice cream blend with espresso melts in your mouth... yum yum~-

-our home made steamboat, it feels so good to have it in a cold night!-

-my meditarranean style fettucini with feta and olives in one of our random dining in town in monkey monkey monkey cafe, it's yummy! -

I don't have all the pictures of our random dining out, so I just post up what I have, we have been to a couple thai restaurant in town and there is this place called AL-Oi which is good! Gonna go back for second, one day... don't have the pictures tho... =)

This is my home made food, I made them... when I am free...

- my carbonara! this is my 1st attempt, there are a few more after that which has more ingredients inside, this is only with bacon. After a couple failure of why my eggs weren't cook, I think it's safe to say now I have found a way to make it that guarantees the eggs will be cooked! I kinda addicted to it and I had like 4 times in a week!! I hope it's not that fattening coz It has no cream and cheese inside yet it tasted creamy! cool huh!! Thanks to Chee Seng the chef who gave me the recipe!-

-this is my 1st attempt on pumpkin soup! It wasnt bad, in fact it's quite nice, but I think I can make a better one which I haven't tried out yet. I like the creamy texture eventho it has no cream in it when I cooked it. The cream only added when you serve, depends on how creamy you want it to be-

I think I kinda like pasta with no cream at all! The other day, I was just threw in a can of tuna and fried some bacon with some olive oil over my fettucine and call it a meal. It was actually not bad!! It's simple and save time!! And I love fettucine!!! They are so goood!!

Enough for food, it's making me hungry while I'm blogging about it, gonna go make my lunch now! Perhaps fettucine again with mango tuna and bacon! I know wtf mango tuna! they have all kinds of weird flavored can of tuna like mango, vinegar, sweet chili, corn, tomato and basils, sundried tomato, and more!! So ciao~

One Early Morning

We had to return the car at noon and so we decided to go to Port Stephens before that. We departed at 6.30am and started our 45 mins journey to our destination. We had to drag ourselves up early but everyone of us not regretting about it at all. The scenics over there were breathtaking and relaxing. Definitely a must visit place if you ever come to Newy!

Our 1st stop was Nelson Bay, then we grab a map from there and started to drive spot to spot using the map. A picture speaks thousand words and I have 16 pictures so this is gonna be a 16000 words long post! Now just let the pictures do the talking shall we?

Of Hunter, Vineyards and Wine Tasting

This week has been hectic. 2 tests and 1 submission. And I'm slightly relieved that it is over, but I have another submission on next week and another test. =(
Just a recap on my Easter Holiday. Ken came over from Brisbane for a couple of days, so Siang and I decided to bring him to Hunter Valley, the place where all the wine lovers love.
It was a nice sunny day but it started to rain for awhile while we were doing some wine tasting and we were still consider pretty lucky because the weather has been gloomy for the past few days. We rented a car and drove up the hunter. I'll just let the pictures do the talking to sum up everything we did over there.

Home Alone

People I see everyday in Newcastle are all awayyy... I'm alone for a day, now, very lonely, till midnight only I'll see some of them. All because I had to work today. Everyone went to Sydney Royal Easter Show but me! Anyway, I'll get over it because today is Easter Monday, a public holiday, and I'm working, and public holiday gives higher pay. So more money since I'm saving money now for my holiday! Anyone wanna contribute some? I am still way behind my budget... =(

I'm down with a very bad gland infection, together with an uber huge ulcer, it hurts so much the other day till I woke up middle of the night to go gargle my mouth with some aspirin. My gland was swollen and it hurts whenever I swallow food. It is so much better now but my ulcer is still not good, it has got a big hole already!! =( and the ulcer is so near to my throat, I think that's how my gland got infected. Or maybe because I gargle with aspirin and I didn't really know that aspirin burns until I went to 2nd pharmacy to get 2nd advice and the pharmacist gave me wonderful ulcer cream that numb the area so I don't feel the pain that much. It's been 5 days and thank goodness the gland gets better already or I have to seek for a doctor already! Hopefully the ulcer will miracally gone by tomorrow, it has been bothering me for almost a week!!

Ken came down from Brisbane yesterday, so Siang and me brought him out for dinner in town yesterday. So he's with them in Sydney today, and I'm home alone.

I'm supposed to be studying! Not updating blog! Can't wait for the Easter holidays! Not that I have something going on, in fact, I need to study and do my assignments during my holiday. But the idea of not going to uni still makes me feel ecstatic! But I have 3 quizzes and 5 blardy assignments to hand up after the holiday and before I'm done with this semester!!! And I can't wait till the end of the semester!! Because I am going for not only 1 but 2 places during the holiday!! yay!! or perhaps 3 if the hole in my pocket is not too big! *slap self* stop dreaming! okay I'm back to reality. Where was I?

Oh right, I wanted to talk about how random I am today for writing this random post coz I am in the random mood. So here are some random photos I took since I came back.

-Dear mother, I have sin, for buying so many chocolates all to myself. I know I should stop binging on chocolates, but the goodness is too hard to resist. So please forgive me, but don't expect me to stop eating, I will cut down, but not quitting.-

You know what, I actually slimmed down 3 months back at home. I didn't really expect that I would slim down, until I came back and friends telling me that I lose weight. So yay!! I do eat a lot of good food back home!! Only I don't snack in between meals, and I hardly eat chocolates and cookies, all thanks to the constant reminder from my mum and my sis on how much weight I have put on in Australia.

Of Birthday, KTV and Fun

Last 2 weeks was great, still on holiday mood so was playing around and all about having fun until this week when the presentation struck me. But it's over now and I feel so relieved right now. But that doesn't mean the end of the assignment, in fact, it's the beginning of the workload! It's already the 5th week since I came back and I'm still very much not on the study mood which is really bad for me right now as I have lotsa tests and assignments coming up after the Easter holiday. And what make it worse is that I'm pretty much on the dreaming stage when the lecture is going out and I've been skipping a few of it... tsk tsk tsk!! I should stop skipping my law class!

Anyway, it was Joe's birthday last last Sunday and we went to this malaysian chinese restaurant in town to have a nice warm dinner and had a nice long chat with everyone. After dinner we proceeded to cold rock ice cream for second round. It was a great night out! When we reach home, we continue the fun playing Wii!

Then on thursday, we went to KTV night held by NUSA, the student association in the uni. It was not bad. They served bbq chicken but they have no veggies and so we ordered pizza instead and drinking my favourite not-so-alcoholic lemon bitter. Then we just spent the night chatting in the bar while listening to some people singing and most of them were out of tunes.

Friday, we wanted to go Newcastle show but when we reached there we couldn't find a parking space even though we drove around the place several times. So we left seeing that no parking space and it was all children. Then, we went for lunch, in a thai restaurant. I'm glad to announce that we have found the best thai food in town. We asked for original spicy and it was really spicy to the extent we had to ask them to switch on the aircon. The price were reasonable too and the food was great.

-looking all satisfied and happy-

After the food, went for grocery shopping and then we went swimming at night in the Forum. It has been like more than 10 years since I last swam. That was a really long time and I wasn't able to swim properly and had to stick beside the pool to move around. If someone were to push me down, I could totally drown because I do not know how to float! T___T how could I be that dumb even the small little kids can do it!! Just wait, I just bought the 10 sessions pass for swimming and I'll be able to swim like a pro in the end of the sessions!! Hopefully...

I work in this shop called SES. It's a retail shop caters to women only. The clothes are kinda cheap so sometimes I'll buy from there. And now I'm granted for employee discount!! So.... well.... I might buy a few stuff over the year I think... actually I'm eyeing on some t-shirts d.... oopsie....

So basically what I do is to refill the racks, unpack the boxes, pack the boxes, cash register, find sizes for the customer, basically every single task available and keep refilling the rack coz everything sold out so damn fast! Sometimes when I'm lazy I'll just stand there and stare around blankly. shhh... don't tell my manager!

The job is kinda good as it provides me a certain amount of income every week. I'm only working on Saturday and Sunday which it's the busiest time of the week. Sometimes it can be very tiring because you have to carry the clothes to the rack especially during the winter times when the winter jackets are darn heavy and to save time you have to carry a few together. So I get sore back and shoulder every time after work during winter. The task are kinda tedious as that's what I do every time I work.

What I don't like about the work is the bitching, backstabbing and the politics between the colleagues. Sometimes you'll just get stabbed without knowing what's going on. Well since it's all women working, that's what you should expect to get. Being the innocent me, I got stabbed too, quite hard, but I'm lucky that my manager trusted me. So, I have learnt my lesson and I think I should just stay away from all the cat fights and act dumb. Agree? I hope there will be no more backstabbing between my new batch of colleague... oh yes, I was the newest staff last year and this year I'm the oldest, so I'm working with new people this year. Hopefully they are all nice people. =)

Honestly, sometimes I am really lazy to go to work. I want to stay at home on Saturday and Sunday sometimes, but if you want something you have to sacrifice the other. And I have chosen what I want, so I just have to continue what I have started in the beginning. Look at the bright side, I can set my budget higher when I travel and treat myself something better whenever I want to. So I think it's worth it. I hope...

First week

I am back to Newcastle on Monday. I am still lazy after 3 months staying at home doing absolutely nothing. Didn't buy grocery until Friday, that means eating out everyday from Monday to Friday.

It's mardi gras parade today and I don't get to go because I have to work. It's only the 1st week I'm back here and I have started working. I am blessed in a way that I have my own income to let me spend the way I want, unfortunately I have to sacrifice my weekends. But on the bright side, I don't have any classes on Friday. So Friday is my day off!

My computer has been down for a week and I finally got it fixed today. It got infected by bloody virus and it doesn't allow me to go online except using skype(thank god!), and it turned off my audio system, firewall and bluetooth. I tried to remove the virus by keep scanning my computer but it doesn't work, I have scanned my computer for like 736973 times but the virus is still there. So, I wanted to call the dell hotline, but then since I have no connection to the internet and Sandra couldn't find the number online, I reformatted my computer myself! I am glad that I am using dell because it has the function for me to restore my computer to the factory default. So now, virus gone, but then I have to do all the shitty stuff like installing all the applications all over again! Well, better than not being able to use the internet.

Uni has started. Assignments start pouring. I have at least 1 major assignments for 1 subject and homework every week for all the subjects! gasps! I have a research paper to do and an oral presentation. T___T the courses are very tough, went in the classes with an empty mind and came out with an emptier mind. I don't understand a thing, it's like I went in the wrong class! OMG how am I gonna survive through this year?! And I still miss my home.... being very emo lately and plus the tough courses, I really wanna cry already... T____T

I shall stop now, I am still fixing some little problems in my beloved lappie.

I am not back in Newcastle. YET.

Time slipped by. 3 months is gone. Just. Like. That. Sometimes I question myself, what have I been doing this summer holiday, I couldn't think of anything except catching up with friends, went to a camp, went to KL and stayed at home all day long. And I totally enjoyed it. I know my life is totally laid off during the 3 months long holiday, and thus I feel scared whenever I think of the workloads, stress, tension waiting for me when I go back. I felt the strongest like last few weeks, and now I think I have slowly accepted the fact that I am going back this sunday. so soon!! I am still sorta in the denial state on the fact that i am going back 3 days later, but I will get over it, I have to... eventually...

I am doing my last minute shopping these few days, and I haven't packed anything. I am supposed to start packing today but I got lazy and emo so I ended didn't pack at all. I have put aside some of the stuff that I am bringing back but still got lotsa stuff at everywhere. Now I'm kinda worry that the baggage limit of 20kg is not enough for me. Maybe I'll ship the rest.

Let see what I planned to do before I came back...
1. Learn photoshop (not done, got offered free lesson by my friend tho, but didn't make an effort to find him)
2. Learn yoga (not done)
3. Go KL (checked)
4. Watch tonnes of movies in the cinema (not really, but better than nothing, checked)
5. Shop like money grows from tree (urgh, not at all, but got myself a few stuffs, so checked)
6. Buy a hard disc (checked)

That's what I can remember for now. I guess I'll better go pack now or I'll be sorry if I left anything behind. And I think this will be my last post from Malaysia. I'll surely miss all of you! XOXO

New Year thoughts

I'm back from Kelantan 4 days ago. New Year was not bad, aside from the part where I got food poisoning and got stuck in nowhere with no signals and with some wild boar footprints.
I don't think New Year is boring like some others do, coz I only get to meet all my family members once in a year. Eventhough most of the time I stayed at home catching up with my cousins, but I find it somewhat fun.
As usual, i had Xin Hua noodles every 1st day of CNY. It's a tradition in my mum's family, it feels like New Year every year when I had the noodles and it's the best best bestest noodles in the world! I swear it with my noodles! Okay lah maybe I exaggerated a little but the goodness and the feelings can't be described just by words!
I wanted to feast on some Kelantan local delicacies but too bad my stomach doesn't allow me to do so. But I have had enough satay to satisfy my crave for satay since I came back.
That's all for now. I am craving for Rojak and going to get it. cheers! =)

Have you done your shopping yet?

New Year is coming in 4 days. It's a little early this year, so everything is a little too rush for me. And to know that I have only a little more than a month left before I am leaving again... I have some mixed feelings on the fact that New Year is coming... don't get me wrong, I LOVE CNY. But the sooner the New Year comes, the closer till the day I am leaving again.

I am going to Kelantan tomorrow for CNY. Will be back on the 4th day of CNY.

I do not want to admit the truth but that's the reality. sigh.... I do not know whether I should be happy or sad...

Anyhow.... I had a great birthday celebration!
Went out to karaoke with friends on the day before my birthday and they wanted to give me a birthday surprise when the clock strikes 12. Planned by my dear sister. But someone spilled the words out and I found out... hehe!! But nevertheless, it was still great!

On the next day, went out with Siang, Hua, Joe, Cien and Maple. We met up at Jusco Bandar Perda and had lunch! Thank you for coming everyone!! I know I am the 1st to turn 21 among all of us but Joe you're next! muahahahahaha!!

After that, Siang had to go back early and so I met up with Chee Seng, Beng Poh and Khim together with Hua and we walked around for a while until it's time to go back for dinner.

I am glad that I am not anywhere near Australia right now. Or else I would have been melted or seriously dehydrated under that temperature. phew....
And the weather is totally crazy, difference of 16 celcius in a day!
I guess I am just too free to keep observing the weather....

Queensland part 2 – Gold Coast

Finally I am posting this up!!

We spent our day 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 in Gold Coast. It was great! Without tour guide, we still managed to walk around by ourselves. 1^st thing we did when we reached Gold Coast was hit the beach!! Gold Coast is famous for the B-E-A-U-Tee-Fool beach! Nope, surfer paradise was not the 1^st beach we went coz it was quite some distance away. We went to Main Beach instead, the beach was just opposite our backpacker’s accommodation. It was empty but pretty as well... big wind and waves... it’s getting dark by the time we reached but we still managed to take some photos and do some crazy stuff.

After that we went to Surfer Paradise, no not the beach yet, we walked around the shops and had our dinner there. We had Indian Food. The food was great but the only bad thing was we had to wait for nearly an hour for our food! Maybe with the hunger and the frustration, the food tasted good... We also had cold rock ice cream as dessert. Cold rock ice cream was made by mixing the ice cream with titbits of your choice on an icy rock. It was good! But expensive tho...

At night we went to Surfer Paradise again for dinner again, basically we went to Surfer Paradise every night to walk around and dinner. We had Italian food for dinner today together with Copenhagen ice cream!! They were seriously awesome!! The ice creams were freshly made and even the cone!! I miss the waffle cone so much!! They are the best waffle cone ever!!

On the Third day, we moved from Main Beach to Surfer Paradise to stay. 1^st thing we did was of course hit the surfer paradise beach. It was a hot day, scorching hot sun and no wind... you can imagine the hotness. Even the sand were hot like we were being cooked standing on it. But nevertheless, you can see a lot of people sun bathing on the beach, we even saw naked woman (only one) lying down on the beach! O.o No I didn’t take any picture you hamsap people!

After we cleaned up and everything, we went to Harbour town, where all the outlets are to do some shopping. Lots of brands there, but I only bought a few stuffs but enough to make me the spender of the day. By the time we got back, it’s already dinner time, so we had Thai food that night! Then we walked around to explore more of the city.

On the fourth day, we went to Movie World! Another awesome theme park! Let the pictures do the talking now.

On the last day, we went to Wax Museum, it’s not Madame Tussaud. It’s just a wax museum where all the wax statues look weird or fake... in my opinion, I think the best one is Kylie Minogue wax figure. After that we walked around to eat food that we wanted to have before we went back to Newcastle. So we opted for Hard Rock Cafe again, and Copenhagen Ice Cream. Basically we had dessert every night, it’s always either Copenhagen Ice cream or Cold Rock Ice Cream. And so, we went back to Newcastle on that same day afternoon. I’ll definitely go to Gold Coast again!

Recap of the end of 2008

2008 has been a wonderful year. New places, new people, new environment and everything was new! But in a blink of eye, it's 2009. It's scary to know how time flies, you're aging day by day and before you realised it you're already 20, 30, 40 or even older!

Sorry for not blogging a lot lately coz I have left my brain in Oz. I don't know how to blog anymore! It takes me forever to finally type something on the blank screen and start blogging! Another reason I am not update as often is because the internet is sooooo sloooooooooooow! Uploading photos will take forever since it takes forever to load a webpage! When I got frustrated by the internet then I'll just close everything and go away.

Anyway, before 2008 ends, I had a few events and outings. I went to Metta camp organized by the Lay Buddhist Society. I was one of the committee member in organizing the camp. I have got no pictures from the camp yet coz no one posted up and so I cannot steal from them!
Straight after the camp, I went to Cyberjaya. Went to malls, catch up with my sister and stuff. Amazingly, I only bought 1 clothe from the trip. UH-mazing! I know! I just don't find anything I like!

Then on 31st, the last day of 2008, went out with Justin for movie at noon then met up with my friends from Lay Buddhist Society in Queensbay to countdown. We were the biggest group in Queensbay I think, we had dinner in KFC and we talked and gossip a lot and everyone was staring at us! I guess we were a little too noisy coz we had like 20 people! So it's either you have to talk very loud or repeat many many times. Even when we are in the crowd, everyone stared at us coz we were the noisiest! It was fun tho, screaming and shouting like nobody business.

I had fun in 2008! Hopefully you all too!! Happy New Year everyone!! I am grateful and blessed to have an awesome neighbour who not only offers me a job but also take care of me the whole year! And Sandra, Siang, Hua, Joe, Cien, Pung, Ai who stays with me in Newcastle and always be there whenever I need help! My parents from raising me to paying my uni fees! Everyone everyone who appears in my life and makes my life wonderful and yes that's including you Justin, Karen, Khang May, Hui Peng, Yik Han, Jia Shuen just to mention a few! Everyone from Lay Buddhist Society, you all are like my sisters and brothers!!

I totally love everyone of you all and I wish our friendship never dies and always keep in touch okay no matter how far you are from me!! Yalah and of course my two sisters and I love you both too! And not that if your name is not here means I don't like you okay! I love you all too! Just that my list will be never ending. Hehe!!

Of course my life is not always smooth sailing, I also met bitchy people but let's not mention them in case of spoiling my joy!

I am back from oz for a week d! The flight was alright, watching movie and sleep the whole way. I have my reason why I never post up here, but someone ruined my plan. (you know who you are, no I am not blaming on you) =)

Anyway, I'm also staying at home for a week d. I didn't go anywhere, only occasional outing with my sister and went to help out in the Lay Buddhist society, other than that, I rot at home with my psp and drama series. I know sad right... but I gotta spend time with my family since I was away for the past 9 months.

I have had some hawker food but most of the time I stayed home for home cooked food. I miss my momma's cooking!!

And I caught a flu and cough! how sad is that... and my voice still sound like an old lady... grr... must be the hot weather. I also got a lot of mosquito bites! all over my legs! T___T why lah mozzies love me so much!

That's all for now, I feel lazy to do anything right now. Stay tuned for more!

fyi, we are allowed to bring TWO A4 paper into the exam. And it is taken away by the invigilator after the exam! =(
